    What will you do in this position?

    The Programme Assistant (CBT) will work in the WFP Palestine Gaza Office and perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages in Gaza. The Programme Assistant (CBT) will support operational planning, delivery, and field level assurance of WFP CBT activities in Gaza, in close coordination with other Gaza field teams as well as technical focal points in the Palestine Country Office, with a focus on increasing operational quality.

    Job Purpose:

The Programme Assistant (CBT) will support operational planning, delivery, and field level assurance of WFP CBT activities in Gaza, in close coordination with other Gaza field teams as well as technical focal points in the Palestine Country Office, and a focus on increasing operational quality.

    How can you make a difference?

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive):

    • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
    • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
    • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) in order to support operational decision-making.
    • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.
    • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
    • Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
    • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, cooperating partners, and commercial actors to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of programmatic objectives.
    • Perform any other duties as required.
      • Support smooth operation of CBT activities across the Gaza strip.
      • Support coordination as required with financial service providers, payment solution focal points, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of CBT operations regardless of programmatic area.
      • Support compliance with the established CBT strategies, policies, procedures, and controls, and assist in implementing corporate standards, with a particular emphasis on programme quality, impact, and assurance.
      • In close coordination with programme interventions and cross-cutting teams, support efforts to strengthen Protection/AAP, Gender, Monitoring and other aspects.

        STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

        Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in economics, business or public administration, finance, project management, engineering, social sciences, development studies, or related functional area

        Experience :

        • Five or more years of progressively responsible work experience in working in the field of Programme implementation.
        • Familiarity in CBT processes and protocols and experience is a strong advantage.
        • Excellent data and analytical skillset to facilitate the tracking and effective management of a significant amount of operational information
        • Stakeholder and relationship management experience and excellent analytical and negotiation skills.

          Knowledge & Skills:

          • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
          • Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision.
          • Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.
          • Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.
          • Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff.

            Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Arabic languages
