Work LocationThimphu, Bhutan Expected duration21Oct2025-31Dec2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Head of Office, the Junior Programme Assistant will: • Disability Inclusion: Support the implementation of disability inclusion initiatives across the United Nations in Bhutan, including the Accessibility Plan 2024–2028 and Disability Inclusion Surge, including outreach, awareness, and training initiatives. • Programme and Coordination Support: Provide support for the SDG Partnership Week, Agenda Chika, RCO events, and the normative working group’s annual costing plan; assist in meetings and capacity-building under the Gender Surge. • Data and Results Monitoring: Update and validate data in the UNINFO system, liaise with agency focal points for reporting, and provide logistical support for the End-Year Review. • Communications and Advocacy: Assist in outreach campaigns, awareness-raising, and advocacy, ensuring gender and disability inclusion are mainstreamed across UN programmes. • Other Support: Draft concept notes and background materials for RCO and Steering Committee meetings and provide technical/administrative assistance to the RC, Head of Office, and RCO team. Qualifications/special skillsA first-level university degree in a relevant field. Knowledge and skills in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and technical support. Experience in working with Microsoft Office Suite (Minimum Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience in data/information management and consolidation. Experience in meeting organization and coordination. Good communication skills, good organizational and analytical skills and the ability to organize data and information. Good time management skills and proactive and self-motivated team player. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
