About your role WRI India’s work with city governments and civil society organisations (CSOs) aims to create more equitable and inclusive urban mobility systems through participatory processes. Building inclusivity into urban and transport planning and governance requires collaborations across multiple stakeholders and active citizen participation. WRI India is looking for a Program Associate to support in interfacing with civil society organizations, community engagement and coordination across stakeholders.How your day will unfold You will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities as listed below.
• Identify and map stakeholders in the urban mobility ecosystem in Bengaluru.
• Coordinate engagement with CSOs throughout the project duration.
• Facilitate engagement with local communities and citizen groups.
• Support with conducting workshops and training programs for CSOs and community representatives.
• Support the preparation of internal and external communication of the project.
• Support with secondary research on transport policies for women, implementation and funding strategies.
• Support primary data collection and analysis for the program through interviews, focus group discussions and surveys.
. Qualifications & requirements we seek:
• Post-graduation in the field of economics/ public policy/ social sciences/ gender studies.
• 2 to 4 years of work experience in the social sector or working with CSOs, local communities or citizen groups.
• Good writing and communication skills is a requirement.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint and Excel) is a requirement.
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis is preferred.
• Can converse fluently in English and Kannada.
• Inclined towards sustainability, gender inclusion and mobility.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, think creatively, work calmly and enthusiastically under high pressure.
