    The role will support procurement operations aligned with Adaptation Fund, Government and WFP standards to ensure timely execution of project activities.

    The Procurement Associate will work under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator, with technical guidance from the WFP Procurement Office.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide administrative services to support procurement activities, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and timely delivery of goods and services.
    • Identify and recommend potential suppliers; compile and maintain documentation to support transparent and competitive selection processes aligned to Adaptation Fund and WFP standards.
    • Review, record, and prioritize purchasing requests; assist requisitioners to ensure procurement of appropriate goods and services at optimal cost.
    • Contribute to negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing, aligned with WFP and government procurement policies.
    • Prepare Purchase Orders, contracts, and supporting documentation for approval; authorize purchases within delegated limits to expedite procurement.
    • Address and resolve issues related to delivered goods by liaising with suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate problem-solving.
    • Collect and analyze procurement data to produce reports that inform decision-making and ensure consistency in information shared with stakeholders.
    • Maintain and update procurement records and databases to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with reporting requirements.
    • Maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to align procurement activities with broader project goals.
    • Provide necessary support to staff involved in procurement tasks, providing guidance to ensure quality and timely delivery of responsibilities.
    • Perform any other related duties as required to support procurement unit in WFP.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

      Education: Diploma in Supply Chain, Purchasing or related qualification.

      Experience: Minimum professional experience of 6 years in the procurement field. Experience in donor related projects is an added advantage.
