Terms of Reference1. General Background
UNHCR Korea aims to increase financial support substantially from the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy (PPH) sector encompassing Corporate, Foundations and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWIs)/Major Donors in the country, as part of the PSP strategies. This UNOPS LICA position will assist the Senior PPH assistants to develop the fundraising strategies and mobilize funds from the corporate, Foundations, High-Net Worth Individuals/Major Donors and maintaining long-term relationships with donors via tailored stewardship programme.
2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment
• Research and archive information of PPH donors or prospective partners, updating biographical information, key philanthropic activities, financial information, ESG/CSR reports, and plans.
• Research and collect the data to identify new PPH donor prospects, highlight potential engagements and support the overall acquiring process.
• Research the local fundraising events, best partnership practices, market trends and global humanitarian issues which might impact on PPH activities and escalate to the supervisor if needed.
• Support donor cultivation and stewardship by drafting or translating proposals, letters, updates, reports, and other materials in line with the PPH fundraising strategies.
• Prepare the necessary information and materials for meetings with prospects or donor partners and follow up the meeting outcomes and tasks with the associates.
• Assist to develop fundraising proposals for global emergencies targeting to PPH donors.
• Liaise with global and regional PPH staff as well as field colleagues, when necessary to provide information and answers to PPH donors.
• Conduct preliminary due diligence screening research about PPH donors and prospects.
• Process necessary administrative actions or paperwork required for PPH donor cares.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
The LICA will work in the UNHCR office under the direct supervision of the Senior PSP Officer.
4. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
• Completion of high school diploma or University degree in preferably Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Sociology or other related discipline.
b. Work Experience
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience with High School diploma; or 0 year of experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
c. Key Competencies
• Proficiency in the full range of research with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality written materials tailored to specific audiences.
• Excellent skill for preparation of pitches, presentations, proposals, reports, and any other fundraising materials targeting PPH donors.
• Excellent written and spoken Korean and excellent English language skills.
• Proven skills in writing, translation, communication, and presentation.
