The Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) Industry Group plays an important role in supporting IFC’s strategic priorities, covering investments in manufacturing, services, forestry, agribusiness, health, and education. MAS sectors play a critical role in providing goods and services to consumers, addressing core needs, creating jobs, contributing to government revenue and stimulating growth. In IFC’s client countries, these sectors can account for as much as 80% of overall economic activity and can account for up to 90% of employment activity, particularly in the poorest countries.

The portfolio team of MAS industry group in Latin America and the Caribbean (MAS LAC) is seeking to recruit a Portfolio Analyst to support the portfolio team and investment staff in the supervision and management of MAS investment portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean and in Europe.

This position will be based in Bogota, Colombia and together with other Portfolio Analysts will be an integral member of the portfolio team working under the oversight of the Portfolio Lead.

Duties and Accountabilities

Analytics and Data Collection
•   Provide analytical support by extracting data from management information systems (MIS) and preparing analyses and presentations to unit management for portfolio reviews, including changes and trends, economic capital, profitability, loan loss reserves, credit ratings, performance of equity investments, development impact indicators, insurance, etc.
•   Prepare the Quarterly Portfolio Review presentation.
•   Perform ad hoc research and data analysis as requested by the Portfolio Lead and Regional Industry Managers. 
•   Collect, consolidate and ensure consistency of data from different sources.
•   Act as expert/information quality steward for the portfolio team. Provide analytical and programmatic support to process improvements and related IT initiatives. 

Investment Support
•   Support investment teams in performing financial analysis and building financial projections for existing and potential clients.
•   Become part of the core investment for existing and potential clients, when feasible, by participating in the preparation of IFC internal documentation and helping to build and in maintaining strong business relationships with clients. 
•   Conduct industry and market research and assist in IFC’s business development efforts.

Reporting requirements, compliance and operational risk management
•   Provide systematic monitoring on clients’ compliance with reporting requirements and proper filing of reports, including updating IFC’s systems to track reports from clients.
•   Ensure that legal documents and other relevant correspondence and transaction documents are properly filed and tracked. 
•   Track and assist in monitoring timely completion of credit ratings, loan loss reserves, equity valuations, collateral recordings, updates to the credit watch list, and expanded project supervision reports (XPSRs). 
•   Monitor compliance with insurance and environmental and social (E&S) reporting requirements of all portfolio clients. Work with portfolio teams on expiring reports and actions to be taken to address deficiencies, and coordination with E&S department and insurance unit to ensure a timely review or reports and update of scores.

Project Handovers and Closures
•   Ensure adequate completion of project handover processes (from new business to portfolio, within portfolio, and from portfolio to portfolio). 
•   Identify projects that are candidates for closure in IFC’s systems and provide guidance to portfolio teams on conditions for closing.

Teamwork and coordination
•   Model excellent teamwork behavior, including smooth and prompt communication, improvement mindset, and achieving the highest results for the team. 
•   Foster the network of Portfolio Assistants and Portfolio Analysts of other regional industry groups
•   Closely coordinate work with the other Portfolio Analysts, Portfolio Lead as well as the entire MAS LAC/EUR portfolio team.
•   Coordinate tasks as needed with other departments.

Selection Criteria

•   Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or economics. 
•   Experience in the financial analysis of companies/projects in the manufacturing, agribusiness and services sectors will be a plus.
•   Excellent analytical skills with high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
•   Advanced knowledge of relevant computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and aptitude to learn IFCs systems and procedures.
•   Knowledge of financial statements and understanding of financial and profitability analysis. 
•   Excellent organizational, administrative and time management skills with proven ability to work independently, promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•   Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels (inside and outside IFC) with demonstrated team spirit and responsiveness.
•   Ability to think independently, analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions.
•   Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•   Fluent in English and Spanish.
