About this position

We are looking for a motivated, strategic, and innovative professional to join our Resource Mobilization Division (ORP/REM) to coordinate teams from across the IDB Group to enhance the IDB Group’s outreach and partnerships, resource mobilization, and knowledge and communications activities. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the socioeconomic development challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region and a profound understanding of the implications of diverse activities for the Group’s overall mission.

The REM Division, under the Office of Outreach and Partnerships (ORP), plays a pivotal role in leading the mobilization of additional financing to public and private interventions in the IDB Group, in coordination with Vice Presidencies of Country (VPC), Sector (VPS), Finance and Administration (VPF), respectively, IDB Invest, IDB Lab, and other relevant units. Aligned with the new institutional strategy, “IDBImpact IDBStrategy+”, the team continues to scale up and multiply its efforts to develop and manage partners from the private and emerging sectors towards the creation and promotion of new investment opportunities in and for the LAC region while maintaining relations with the traditional public partners.

What you’ll do:

Strengthen and extend the IDB Group’s strategic alliances and dialogue with our existing key stakeholders based on a systematic analysis of their context and priorities in coordination with our Office in Europe (EUR), our Office in Asia (ASI), and the Grants and Co-financing Management Unit (GCM). Coordinate interdisciplinary working groups to develop and implement new partnerships while ensuring alignment with the IDB Group’s strategy and priorities. Expand our partners’ base by developing action plans for new segments such as philanthropies and non-IDB member countries. Support the team in the day-to-day institutional relationship with existing partners. Support the technical teams in managing the partner/donor relationship during the execution phase of existing partnerships. Enhance existing mobilization efforts by further expanding engagement with partners, including companies, foundations, universities, and non-government organizations, and identifying and mapping new key private players in the development community. Develop and implement partnerships, resource mobilization strategies, and action plans for innovative resource mobilization instruments such as credit substitution guarantees and hybrid capital. Produce and present reports on results and metrics of external outreach and/or stakeholder management efforts as appropriate in coordination with relevant departments. Support the production of key high-level events and seminars as appropriate. Contribute to efforts shaping the IDB Group’s resource mobilization strategy and partnership—or product-specific strategies. Provide guidance and share lessons learned with more junior staff and consultants in outreach, partnerships, and resource mobilization engagement.

What you'll need

Education: A master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in business administration, finance, economics, communication, international development, international relationships, or other fields relevant to the role's responsibilities. Experience: At least three years of relevant professional experience for Associates and four years of relevant professional experience for Senior Associates, including strategic outreach and partnerships and resource mobilization activities. Understanding the socio-economic development challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region and knowledge of diverse activities for the IDB Group’s overall mission are required. Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.

Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
