About this position

We are looking for a motivated, strategic, and innovative professional to join our Resource Mobilization Division (ORP/REM) leading and coordinating teams from across the IDB Group to enhance the IDB Group’s reporting, knowledge, and communications activities on all outreach and partnerships, and resource mobilization effort for its global positioning. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the socio-economic development challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region as well as profound understanding of the implications of diverse activities for the Group’s overall mission.

The REM Division, under the Office of Outreach and Partnerships (ORP), plays a leading role in mobilizing additional financing to public and private interventions in the IDB Group, in coordination with Vice Presidencies of Country (VPC), Sector (VPS), Finance and Administration (VPF), respectively, IDB Invest, IDB Lab, and other relevant units. In recent years the team has multiplied its efforts to develop and manage partners from the private and emerging sector towards the creation and promotion of new investment opportunities in and for the LAC region, while maintaining the relations with the traditional public partners.

What you’ll do:

Lead, coordinate and enrich the IDB Group’s reporting, knowledge, and communications activities on all outreach and partnerships, and resource mobilization effort to position the IDB Group as a partner of choice for the region in coordination with the Office of Knowledge, Innovation and Communication (KIC) and other relevant units. Engage positively with and influence external partners through articulate communication, solutions, and proven record of delivery of results crafting messages delivered by the IDB Group’s executives in various outreach and knowledge sharing occasions while working closely with KIC and other relevant units. Serve as the lead focal point for communications and content development -- coordinating business units involved, overseeing the communications efforts, reporting of results and client experience across ORP’s five offices: the Office of ORP Manager (ORP/ORP), the Resource Mobilization Division (ORP/REM), the Grants and Co-financing Management Unit (ORP/GCM), the Office in Asia (ORP/ASI), and the Office in Europe (ORP/EUR). Lead ORP efforts to develop a communication strategy for partnerships and outreach activities and improve internal processes. In coordination with relevant departments, produce and present reports on results and metrics of external outreach and/or stakeholder management efforts as appropriate. Support the production of key high-level events and seminars as appropriate. Contribute to efforts shaping the IDB Group’s resource mobilization strategy, as well as partnership- or product-specific strategies as well. Advisory role to more junior staff and consultants in the communication and knowledge partnership engagement.

What you'll need

Education: A minimum master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in communications, international relationships or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: At least 4 years of experience. Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required. Core competencies: 1) in-depth knowledge and professional experience in communication, marketing, and public relations; 2) deep understanding of or experience with the IDB Group’s partnership activities; and 3) strong interpersonal skills, professional motivation, ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
