The Sanctions Committee is the second and final instance of the IDB Group’s anti-corruption adjudicative process, which deliberates on appealed determinations issued by the Sanctions Officer. The Sanctions Committee Secretariat is responsible for directing procedures, coordinating actions and providing general support in the adjudication of cases presented to the Sanctions Committee under the IDB's framework for addressing allegations of Prohibited Practices. The Sanctions Committee Secretariat has a leadership role in the management of the Sanctions Committee’s activities, requiring a high level of technical expertise and the provision of input to resolve complex technical problems in this area.

About this position:

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and energetic Office Management Support Consultant. As Office Management Support Consultant, you will provide office management support services to the Secretariat of its Sanctions Committee.

You will work for the Secretariat of its Sanctions Committee, under the supervision of the Executive Secretary.

What you’ll do:

  • Keep updated the physical and electronic archives curated by the Secretariat, such as the Case Management System.
  • Prepare all logistical and administrative tasks related to the issuance of decisions (i.e. checking all copies for consistency, making enough copies for each respondent, preparing binders and labels, checking addresses, requesting courier service, monitoring shipping to ensure delivery, etc.).
  • Prepare memos and other basic communications for the Sanctions Committee and the Sanctions Committee Secretariat.
  • Help with all administrative tasks such as processing payments to consultants and members of the Sanctions Committee and coordinating and organizing internal and external meetings.
  • Make purchase plans for office supplies and take regular stock of inventory.
  • Keep all supporting documentation related to the costs and expenses.
  • Prepare all administrative tasks for travel or missions of the Sanctions Committee and the Sanctions Committee Secretariat, including managing hotel and tickets reservations, visa requirements and Travel Authorizations.
  • Support and organize internal and external meetings, performing tasks such as preparing the agenda, drafting minutes, and monitoring agreed actions.
  • Provide support for the preparation and logistical planning of a wide variety of meetings and events, including conferences in Washington DC and/or overseas, workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Undertake other tasks and ad-hoc assignments, as assigned by the Executive Secretary.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    What you'll need:

    • Education: Technical studies or Associate Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Law or related fields.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
