To achieve this ambitious mission, we rely on a team of dedicated professionals, and that's where you come in as our next Health Safety and Security (HSS) Manager
The NORCAP HSS Manager serves as the lead technical resource on health, safety and security risks and crisis management. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff working in complex environments around the world. You will provide advice and guidance to NORCAP Management and staff on HSS policy, procedures, and best practices.
To fulfil these crucial responsibilities, the ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in the following core areas:
Monitor the general security situation and identify potential security risks impacting NORCAP. Review and provide feedback on all HSS products (plans, reports, agreements, risk assessments etc.) Ensure NORCAP compliance with HSS regulations Provide HSS briefings and security and crisis management training to NORCAP employees Advise and guide on security and duty of care to NORCAP teams during project stages Ensure quality and compliance of due diligence assessments Coordinate the NORCAP Crisis Management Team and serve as main liaison with the International SOS Maintain and develop NORCAP's security and duty-of-care policies, procedures and plans Conduct field risk assessments and liaise with security providersTo effectively deliver on these essential duties, a successful candidate will possess a unique blend of experience and qualifications, including:
Minimum 7 years of experience as a HSS Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context Considerable experience in High and extreme Risk environments (minimum 2 years) Demonstrated experience as a trainer Professional qualifications or studies in general management, HSS and/or risk management Experience with management of critical incidents and crises Fluency in English, both written and verbal You are encouraged to read the full Terms of Reference for more detail.What we offer
