About this position

The team: The Office of Risk Management (RMG) performs the second line role in managing risk within the organization, including the assessment of credit, operational and market risks. RMG is responsible for strengthening the Bank's capacity to identify, measure and manage the credit risks of the Bank in its loan portfolio, and its treasury activities including derivatives. It also manages the Bank's exposure to market and operational risks.

The Multi-factor & Quantitative Risk Management project aims to develop, maintain, and upgrade systemic (multi-dimensional) risk management models, including related tools, policy recommendations, reports, and guidelines.

What you’ll do:

Multi-factor & Quantitative Risk Management Consultant

  • Cooordinate the establishment of multi-factor risk management models to quantify systemic risk exposure, and perform stress tests to assess the Bank's portfolio resilience to extreme scenarios, including generating periodic reports for the Senior Management and relevant committees of the Board.
  • Coordinate Scenario analysis process, engaging with stakeholders within RMG and across the Bank to create scenarios that include multi-factor risk considerations.
  • Support RMG digital transformation process, and set standards for visualization, in line with IDB policies; develop and maintain dashboards to support RMG Groups.
  • Generate knowledge repository of methods and best practices and track the Bank's efforts to comply with the recommendations derived from systemic (multi-factor) risk management models and provides feedback, knowledge, and lessons learned.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant field.
    • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in risk management, finance, or related areas. Experience leading teams or projects at international financial institutions is a plus. Other skills: outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear ability to add value to the risk management process through creative thinking and in-depth and disciplined analyses; proven ability to apply broad and deep knowledge of financial markets, products, and processes to address the risks from a multi-dimensional perspective; seasoned in the use of financial and risk management models and tools; knowledge of relevant banking regulation, including regulatory frameworks such as Basel; ability to draft well-written, coherent analyses and proposals to senior management and to engage senior decision-makers on complex risk issues. ability to attract, select, and motivate talented and diverse staff; an outstanding, effective people manager who models inclusive behaviors and promotes diversity.
