    SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.

    About the mission

    Solidarités International (SI) first intervened in 2019 in response to Cyclone Idai. Due to the crisis in Cabo Delgado, SI conducted an assessment in Mueda in May 2021 and by July 2021 had begun implementing life-saving activities in Mueda. SI is today implementing activitiess in whole Cabo Delgado province especially in Mueda, Nangade, Muidumbe, Palma, Mocimboa da Praia districts.

    In 2024, SI Mozambique focuses into integrated, multisectoral programming including Rapid Response Mechanism, WASH, Food Security Livelihoods, Non Food Items, and counts on 150 staffs and a budget of 10M euros thanks to the financial support of BHA, ECHO, SDC, CDCS, UNICEF, AERMC.

    About the job

    General objective:

    Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Grants Coordinator ensures effective management of the country office's partnership and grants portfolio. This includes maintaining strong donor relationships, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and fostering interdepartmental coordination for grant management. Key responsibilities include:

    - Managing the full grant cycle, including proposal development, reporting, and compliance.
    - Strengthening donor relations and representing the organization in external forums.
    - Supporting partnership management, including capacity building and oversight of implementing partners.
    - Ensuring alignment between program, finance, and logistics teams for integrated grant management.
    - Contributing to funding strategies and identifying new opportunities to support operational goals.
    - The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, accountable, and compliant programs while supporting the country office's strategic objectives.

    The main challenges: - Managing multiple grants with varying donor requirements, reporting formats, and timelines while ensuring strict adherence to compliance standards.
    - Aligning programmatic, financial, and logistical teams to deliver coherent grant management and reporting amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines.
    - Navigating donor expectations and maintaining trust and engagement, while ensuring accountability and performance of implementing partners.
    - Addressing funding fluctuations, evolving donor priorities, and operational disruptions such as security risks or humanitarian crises, while keeping grant objectives on track.

    Priorities for the 2/3 first months: - Develop area-based concept notes for new sectors and activities.
    - Train teams on donor requirements and compliance, aligning practices with organizational SOPs.
    - Engage donors and partners to strengthen relationships and identify funding opportunities.
    - Conduct a gap analysis to identify areas where existing grants tools and processes can be improved for greater efficiency.

    Security constraints: Limited security restriction in Pemba. Freedom of movement. Good situation.

    Education / academic background: Bachelor or masters in a related degree: humanitarian response, international cooperation…

SI will offer you

A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.

SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.

Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

LIVING CONDITIONS: Good living conditions, GH with a swimming pool, several good restaurants, possibility to go to the beach and do various activities (diving, boxing. volley-ball, football, tennis, etc.).
Good internet connexion, very few energy cuts
