    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

    The Monitoring Data Analyst will work in the Monitoring Unit and in collaboration with the other units of WFP Palestine team.

    JOB PURPOSE

    To support monitoring data capture, processing, analysis and reporting to inform evidence-based decision-making by WFP. The incumbent will lead all activities at Gaza AO level related to monitoring data, working closely with counterparts in CO and other AO units.

    This position will be based in Gaza and reports to Consultant Programme Policy.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    Within delegated authority, the Monitoring Data Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Lead established practices for process monitoring data capture, management, and analysis. This includes, at a minimum:
      • Review, verification, and consolidation of daily reports shared by field teams, including follow-up as needed.
      • Classification and organizing of findings per established practices.
      • Conducting weekly data analysis and compilation of key statistics.
      • Sharing reported findings with relevant teams immediately or on a weekly basis, depending on the nature of the finding.
      • Conducting monthly data analysis and reporting, including key statistics and trends by area, over time, and other measures as established.
      • Any other relevant tasks.
      • Act as the main focal point for process monitoring findings at Gaza AO for WFP staff and third-party monitors, regularly communicating findings, supporting performance evaluations, and answering questions as needed.
      • Develop and continuously improve monitoring reporting products that enhance the capability of the AO to make evidence-based decisions, with support of Country Office.
      • Proactively identify challenges regarding data collection and processing to suggest solutions and establish mechanisms to improve data quality.
      • Contribute to the continued improvement of WFP process monitoring data collection forms and standards.
      • Contribute to the development, adoption, and monitoring of data quality measures.
      • Contribute to the development of monitoring data management and analysis SOPs, guidelines, and other tools aimed at WFP TPM and Programme teams, in close collaboration with wider team members and CFM colleagues.
      • Support and advocate for adherence to data protection and privacy standards in IDM work.
      • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested.
      • Undertake other duties as requested.

        STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

        Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, such as data analytics, social science, social worker, computer science, internet technology, etc.

        Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-university relevant working experience, including at least 1 year in a monitoring role.

        Language: Fluency (level C) in in oral and written communication in Arabic and in English.

        Knowledge & Skills

        • Advanced knowledge of Excel and full Microsoft Office Suit – mandatory
        • Demonstrated data analysis and visualization experience (sample work as part of portfolio submission mandatory) – mandatory
        • Multitasking, organization, and prioritization skills – mandatory
        • Quick learner and demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure – mandatory
        • Experience of using Tableau/PowerBI for data visualization – preferred
