CIMMYT is looking for an outstanding, self-motivated, and result-oriented professional to lead the strategic and operational design, implementation, and governance of global compensation and benefits policies at CIMMYT. This professional will ensure alignment with organizational goals, internal equity, and compliance with international and local standards; will conduct processes related to HR data analytics, job evaluations, and reporting, while serving as the subject matter expert on all compensation and benefits matters.
The location of this position will be on-site at CIMMYT's headquarters in Texcoco, Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compensation and Benefits
Develop and implement global compensation strategies, including market benchmarking, salary structures, and merit-based increases. Lead the annual review and update of salary scales and consulting fee frameworks. Oversee the design and revision of global staff benefits and allowances (e.g., housing, pension, transportation, hardship, danger pay). Benchmark benefits across staff groups using external data sources; ensure internal equity and labor law compliance. Evaluate and negotiate with benefits providers; monitor utilization and employee satisfaction. Develop and maintain compensation and benefits policies and procedures. Provide expert guidance on job grading and evaluation processes. Advise managers on compensation decisions and practices.2. HR Data Analytics & Reporting
Supervise HR data analytics across multiple country offices. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for compensation, benefits, and workforce metrics. Oversee monthly HR reporting for internal stakeholders (HR Management, Finance, Planning, Knowledge Management, Travel). Ensure accurate administration of the Leave module for CIMMYT-run offices. Improve workflows related to C&B, including centralized access to policy acknowledgments and privacy notices. Support position creation and maintenance in Dynamics 365; provide technical assistance to HR teams. Produce biannual HR KPIs (e.g., turnover, recruitment, training, staff count, GDI) and ad hoc reports for leadership.3. Audit & Compliance
Lead the preparation and review of HR documentation for internal and external audits. Coordinate with key stakeholders such as Finance, Donor Relations, and other units to ensure timely and accurate audit responses. Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.4. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise and validate outputs of the C&B team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Foster collaboration across HR and other departments to ensure consistent policy application. Communicate policies clearly to staff and supervisors, act as a subject matter expert on C&B topics. Collaborate with Payroll and Finance on the creation and monitoring of Payroll provisions and On cost mechanisms. Any other activities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of compensation and benefits frameworks, benchmarking methodologies, and policy implementation. Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Experience with HRIS systems (preferably Dynamics 365). Strong analytical, reporting, and project management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Proven leadership and team supervision experience. Fluent in English (C1/C2 level).Benefits
