  1. Role and responsibilities

    The purpose of a logistics officer (Warehouse focused) is to provide the day to day implementation of the warehousing functions of Gaza Area Office 

    The following is a brief description of the role.

    Generic responsibilities (max 10)

     

    1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements
    2. Implement delegated fleet functions portfolio according to Plan of Action
    3. Conduct and follow up daily warehousing activities 
    4. Support the administration of resources so that deliverables are achieved within set budgets, timelines and standards
    5. Prepare and develop warehousing and stock reports as required by Area and Country office
    6. Support in development of SOPs as requested
    7. Ensure proper filing of all warehousing documents
    8. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the warehousing function 
    9. Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager

      Specific responsibilities

      • Ensure availability of storage space and maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse/storeroom(s) at all times, ensuring that only authorised staff are allowed to enter the warehouse/storeroom
      • Receive, store, and distribute materials and supplies according to NRC procedures.
      • Supervise packing, loading, and unloading of all materials and supplies.
      • Act as a focal point for reception of Stock Release Forms and coordination with programmes in upcoming distributions.
      • Organise transport of materials and supplies according to NRC procedures. Ensure third party transportation service provisions (e.g. Forklift, truck rentals) are tracked properly with clear donor/project information.
      • Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing materials and supplies, through physical counts, issuance of GRNs and Waybills.
      • Ensure stock cards and bin cards are updated on a daily basis.
      • Prepare periodic stock reports and assist in carrying out periodic inventory audits
      • Immediately report losses, damages or discrepancies. Support on filing loss/incident reports when required.
      • Manage inventory control of items at NRC Gaza Warehouse and report all stock balances to the line manager and programme teams in weekly/ monthly basis.
      • In charge of Contingent Worker planning if/when needed. Ensure proper tracking of days/hours worked.
