Back Logistics Manager Palestine Gaza

What we are looking for:

An experienced Logistics Manager to oversee logistics setup according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation. The position holder will ensure that NRC Gaza is well-positioned to respond to current and future needs and shall demonstrate strong engagement and leadership in all significant logistics actions while ensuring capacity building of the logistics team.

What you will do:

• Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all area projects.
• Harmonize policies and work procedures with the Country Office.
• Support and develop relevant logistics training, including coaching the logistics staff in the Area Office.
• Oversee the supply chain and pipeline of good and materials through international procurement (i.e. from Egypt and Jordan)
• Contribute to identifying opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market-based programmes by participating in assessments and response analysis discussions.
• Ensure the proper Logistics components are included in budget preparation for new grants and annual budgets - follow up and manage allocated budget lines (e.g. fuel, rental agreements).
• Develop and implement advanced planning tools and systems for logistics activities (procurement trackers, warehousing reports, fleet reports, Fuel consumption reports, etc.) with the project heads. 
• Enhance Fleet utilization and create reporting tools.
• Coordinate and Work closely with the Logistics Cluster (Gaza, Egypt and Jordan) on NRC material delivery into Gaza.
• Work with Jordan and the Egypt Logistics teams on the item’s delivery to Gaza.
• Supervise the Amman-based Logistics team for Amman-based procurements.
• Set up key performance measures for all logistics activities and regularly review them against actual performance.
• Close and regular communication, coordination, and planning with all project managers. 
• Train non-logistics teams on NRC Logistics procedures.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Knowledge of logistics management in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine, Jordan, and Egypt, is beneficial.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis and report writing.
  • Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile with documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal. Proficiency in Arabic is an asset. What we offer:
    • Duty station: Gaza
    • Contract: 12 months (Fixed-term contract renewal based on performance, funds availability and need for the position)
