    SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.

    About the mission SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL’s mission in Lebanon has two operational bases (Tripoli and Zahle) and a coordination office in Beirut. The expatriate team consists of 2 staffs members, while the national team represents about 80 staff members. The mission’s overall budget iw around 9M Euros in 2024. Projects

    About the job

    General objective:

    Lead in the reinforcement and further development of the emergency supply chain for the Mission. Ensure monitoring of basic compliance for procurement processes during the emergency. Liaise with Logistics Cluster and other entities to ensure procurement and delivery of key supplies.

    The main challenges: Major security concerns. Market distortions. Mission needing to absorb a major bur rate due to the emergency situation.

    Priorities for the 2/3 first months: Further development of supply chain solutions for emergency procurement during the emergency. Reinforcing framework agreements for the emergency response. Ensure delivery/warehousing solutions across the different bases.

    Security constraints:

    No high security constraints on a normal basis. Possible to walk in Beirut, go out of Beirut for the week-end, etc. However, with the recent escalation, security constraints are evolving and are now limiting personal movements out of Beirut and may further limit them in case the situation escalates further.

    Your profile

    Specific skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the humanitarian sector
3-4 years experience on a similar position

Technical skills

1. Supply chain in challenging contexts mastering
2. Knowledge of LINK and of key supply management skills

Transversal skills

1. Reactiveness and efficiency
2. Clear communication and guidance, while diplomatic and respectful
3. High capacity to work under pressure while not disseminating the stress to the team

Language:

1. English (mandatory)

SI will offer you

A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 2640 gross per month (2400 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.

SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.

Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
