About this position
TechLab is the Emerging Tech Laboratory of the ITE department at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). TechLab serves, as a means, to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies in areas that can have a positive impact on the development of Latin America and the Caribbean through the exploration, experimentation and awareness of these new technologies.
The ITE\\IPS unit is looking for a person who is committed to constantly learning about new technologies and is enthusiastic about how to test them to showcase them to others. The consultant must have proven expertise in the research and demonstration of technology that adds value to the organization and our clients. You will support the research services, coordination, showcase of technologies, and technology adoption mentorship through key technology-based initiatives.
What you’ll do:
· Emerging Technologies Research:
o Develop Reports, review papers, and analyze emerging technology trends
o Demonstrate and explain technology products and services to non-technologists
o Build inspiring use cases on how to use the technology that are relevant to different audiences
o Engage with multiple vendors to set-up demos on their technologies
o Construct a technology relationship data base of the technologies demoed and visits to TechLab
· Emerging Tech Observatory
o Support closely the coordination and information gathering for the Emerging Tech Observatory
o Identify relevant use cases related to Emerging Technologies worldwide to showcase in the Observatory
o Analyze emerging technologies to identify trends and relevant information for IDB and clients
o Collect and document emerging tech projects, providers and use cases
o Maintain and coordinate TechLab webpage and documentation of TechLab projects
o Coordinate and maintain Observatory platform up to date
