About this position

The IT Operations manages, implements, and maintains the global information technology infrastructure of the Bank (data centers, personal computers, storage, networks and data, voice, and video communications) and disaster recovery in accordance with published standards, best practices, and the Bank's IT architecture. The division is looking for a project manager professional consultant.

Team’s mission: IT Service Management operation consolidates the IT operations of Client Center, Country Offices local support, Vendor management, QA assurance, to provide the end users a Bank’s global infrastructure environment. The IT support and regular service requests are managed according to ITIL framework.

What you’ll do

· Facilitates planning sessions to prioritize new projects and initiatives aligned with the Service Management capital projects.

· Assists teams working towards timely project deliveries; organizes and leads project meetings; creates status reports that support the program's effective decision-making.

· Prepares different Program Management office documents, presentations, charts, spreadsheets, and supporting program office documentation.

· Proactively identifies and reports risks and issues that arise during projects; proposes and carries out actions to mitigate or resolve them.

· Ensures change control for the different projects part of the program.

· Works collaboratively with other teams in Bank and ITE Department to define and implement the communication and change management plan associated with the project; builds relationships within ITE and outside stakeholders for successful project execution and handles the project closure and hand-off process.

· Utilizes project management tools, technology, and procedures, focusing on continuous improvement and value to internal clients.

· Generates knowledge, ensuring that project management standards, best practices, and lessons learned are gathered and shared with others.

· Works independently with limited supervision by the IT Service Manager.

What you'll need

· Education: Master’s degree or equivalent and a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

· Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Broad-based work experience and thorough knowledge of functional specialty. Ability to develop, analyze and articulate project issues. Ability to diagnose problems and propose reliable solutions.

· Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

· Ability to work well with others and manage multiple tasks, with good organizational skills.

Requirements

· Citizenship: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.

· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

· Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

· Length of contract: 12 months.
