    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

    This job is based in the Provincial Office, Quetta and the job holder will directly report and work under the supervision of Head of Provincial Office, WFP Balochistan.
    At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities requiring interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other staff.


    JOB PURPOSE:

    To deliver high quality technical support, system, and data maintenance across a range of areas, in order to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

    1. Monitor technology reliability, identify user needs, analyses of data and produce accurate reports to recommend IT solutions to support informative decision-making.
    2. Provide standard technical training to end users of commonly used technology and systems, to assist WFP staff in conducting their work. Prepare and update technical infrastructure documentation and service catalogue of country office and harmonize same country wide to ensure relevant documentations are up to date.
    3. Supervise IT service desk team in PO. Provide 1st and 2nd level support to PO users. Ensure service desk operations are working smoothly and IT staff have adequate knowledge to provide optimum support. Effectively use IT ticketing system, prepare action points from the feedback provided by staff, and implement those actions. Provide IT services under the light of ITSM.
    4. Provide infrastructure support in PO. Responsible for the security, configuration, monitoring, management, maintenance, backup and analysis, coordination with vendors, HQ, global SD etc. for Foodlink, Firewalls and Networks (LAN, WAN & Wireless). Coordinate with ISPs for office internet connectivity including DR site of CO. Safeguard IT corporate standards at PO.
    5. Configured and manage File and Print Servers to secure staff data implemented access rights, screening filters and applied corporate Data backup policy
    6. Provide support in different IT projects. Ensure that operations of helpdesk and network infrastructure are technically compliant to corporate IT policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    7. Finalize Hardware / Software specification for PO procurement plan. Attend different meetings with vendors to provide best possible IT services in line with organizational requirements as and when required.
    8. Draft standard material such as end-user and technical documentation to ensure staff have access to required information about IT services and products.
    9. Implement improvements to methods and processes within the IT to support the continuous improvement of IT services provided.
    10. Coordinate with other IT staff to ensure individual and team objectives are met in compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

    11. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures as required to provide support in enabling emergency food assistance needs to be met.
    12. Perform all tasks related to system administration including management of servers, data backups, IT reports and VM environment.
    13. Perform all duties in absence of other staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


    Education:

    University degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or in a related field would be given preference. Relevant IT certifications such as CCNA, MCSA will be an advantage..


    Experience:

    6 years of experience is desirable in designing, deploying, and managing IT infrastructure and IT support services.
    • Has experience resolving more complex technical issues.
    • Has worked with head of units in defining requirements for functional area.
    • Has experience with the application of client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
    • Has experience analyzing service management results and development service enhancement recommendations.
    • Has participated in business process re-engineering efforts and identified service management improvements.
    • Has experience participating in procurement/budgeting process.


    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

    Language:

    Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu.
