The Office of the Executive Auditor (AUG) has a Mission to increase the likelihood of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group achieving its goals and objectives through the provision of independent and objective assurance and consulting services on governance, risk management, and control processes, in accordance with ethical and relevant professional standards, and improvements to the organization’s accountability and transparency for results.

A long-term AUG Strategy and Risk Based Annual Plans include a variety of demands that are incorporated in audit engagements as well as cross cutting departmental initiatives that increasingly involve the review of information technology (IT) digital and data analytics processes, as well as an important component of audit techniques innovation, exploration, and transformation.

This includes disciplines associated with IT assurance, including IT General Controls (ITGC), applications systems controls, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data governance, as well as the data science and advanced audit analytics on structured and unstructured information through a range of techniques, from standard query languages (SQL), MS Office, robot process automation (RPA) and process mining tools, to natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI).

AUG is looking for audit consultants’ experts in IT assurance, audit analytics, and/or audit techniques for innovation/exploration.

As AUG Consultant specialized in advanced IT assurance, audit analytics, or audit innovation/exploration, you will perform audit-related work in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, to support the achievement of AUG strategy while helping the completion of the RBAP by contributing to individual audit engagements covering governance and control environment, financial, human capital and information technology resources, as well as, IT governance, corporate, administration and risk management matters.

You will work with a strongly motivated, fast paced, innovative and high-quality team in AUG together with players in the rest of the IDB promoting the good governance and management of emerging and transformational solutions. The consultant will work closely with the AUG Management, Lead Auditors and corresponding audit teams to discuss and contribute to the identification of relevant risk and controls. Perform research, analysis, testing and produce documentation as part of audit work programs, and contribute to report drafting and supporting communications and presentations included in the RBAP engagements.

What you’ll do

  • Perform ITGC and application controls audit-related work in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, needed for the completion of specific engagement to be assigned in due time.
  • Develop, test, and deliver advanced audit analytics on structured and unstructured information through SQL, MS Office tools, NLP, ML, AI or GenAI solutions. Develop dashboards in Power BI to communicate the results of the audit analytics.
  • Propose, develop, test, and/or deliver proof of concepts (POC), minimal value products (MPV), prototypes, project pilots, and early stages of new innovative, high impact and transformative audit solutions, process mining, or business processes reengineering, that can be explored and scaled for the benefits of AUG function and the IDB Group as a whole.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of data analytics and/or developing ML/AI algorithms or with process mining experience.
    • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

        Requirements

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

          • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
          • Length of contract: 24 months.
