About this position:

The Treasury Division is looking for a dedicated, energetic, and team-oriented professional to fill a consultant position in our Treasury’s Investment team (INV) to coordinate and provide support for the implementation of a new Investment Portfolio Analytics and Risk Management System. The new system will encompass portfolio and risk management, portfolio analytics, performance measurement, and compliance. As Investments Technology Consultant, you will support project functions and may backfill on some investment-related activities for staff working on the project. You will work in the Investments Group of the Treasury Division, part of the Finance department. This team is responsible for managing the Bank’s liquid assets investing in high-grade fixed income securities with a global focus.

What you’ll do:

  • Participate in the project’s multidisciplinary working group focusing on INV’s perspective (requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and documentation) in close coordination with INV staff.
  • Coordinate and document work program progress for INV.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes spanning portfolio analytics, performance, compliance, and relevant data flows.
  • Provide business guidance and support on the implementation of portfolio analytics, performance, and compliance functionalities according to specifications.
  • In coordination with Bank staff, facilitate the design and development of related dashboard reports.
  • Perform other research and analytical tasks, as directed, in support of INV’s general functions.
  • The contractual will work directly with portfolio managers and people from other areas of the bank such as Treasury Risk Management and Information Technology.

    What you'll need:

    • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in either financial technology, financial/risk analysis/modeling, or related fields
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
