About this position

The Treasury Division is seeking a committed, dynamic, and collaborative professional to join our team in the role of Consultant within the Treasury’s Investment team (INV). This position is crucial in providing support for the asset management services offered to external clients participating in the CASA Program. As a consultant, you will play a key role in supporting portfolio management tools, activities and engaging in client relations tasks.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop comprehensive tools and training materials on asset management and fixed-income markets generally, as well as specific portfolio reports, utilizing existing systems and available data to provide valuable insights.
  • Provide crucial support for portfolio management activities, including research on eligible markets, evaluating the feasibility of potential investments and monitor current investments.
  • Assess and respond to inquiries from external clients related to portfolio management, maintaining effective communication, and addressing periodic and special requirements.
  • Undertake additional research and analytical tasks, as directed, to support INV's general functions.
  • Collaborate directly with portfolio managers and individuals from various departments within the bank, including Risk Management and IT, to ensure cohesive and effective operations.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related disciplines.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in fixed income markets and/or portfolio management
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

        Requirements:

        • Citizenship1: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
        • Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
