Context
The International Organization for Migration – Office in Greece (IOM) in cooperation with the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, through the Helios Junior Project, will target the integration of young migrant adults in Greek mainland and islands.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for assisting the coordination of the project’s activities.
- Provide interpretation services for integration activities within the program.
- Translate informational materials for distribution to program beneficiaries.
- Translate documents and materials between English, Greek, and the target language as needed.
- Manage the program’s helpline and financial assistance line.
- Accompany the integration facilitator on visits to program beneficiaries’ residences, as needed.
- Facilitate intercultural mediation by sharing information and raising awareness of the cultural and communicative context of both beneficiaries and the local community to support mutual understanding.
- Participate in individual and group sessions with beneficiaries alongside other program professionals.
- Assist in handling emergency cases in collaboration with other professionals.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education - High school degree/certificate with minimum two years of relevant work experience.
- University degree from an accredited academic institution an advantage. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience
- Experience in working in a migration/refugee setting would be considered as an advantage;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems. Skills
