We are currently seeking to fill an intern position Private Partnerships Division (PSP) /Individual Giving, based in Italy/Rome.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION

    WFP currently has the fastest growing global individual fundraising programme. Our focus is a digital-first strategy, working through a centralized global team recruiting supporters primarily through digital channels (Meta & Search) and building an outstanding supporter experience through a multi-channel loyalty programme that aims to deliver a best-in-class donor experience. The programme now recruits donors in English, French, German, Spanish and Arabic, with language capabilities also including Korean, and it delivers the supporter experience through email, SMS, WhatsApp, outbound telephone and Meta.

    • Duration of internship: 8 months
    • Expected Start Date: tentative 01 Jan 2025

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Under direct supervision the candidate will perform the following duties:

      • Assist with monthly multi-channel fundraising activities (such as: creating donation landing pages, testing emails, landing pages, follow up media messages, and refresh content of journeys, proofreading etc.);
      • Support the development of new creative propositions, scoping suitable information and briefing relevant stakeholders;
      • Support the optimization of ongoing activities, including telemarketing operations and automated emails, working closely within data analytics and tech team;
      • Develop Supporter Experience monthly performance reports (gathering, organizing and presenting data)
      • Complete data monitoring/auditing processes (follow up daily/weekly reports, duplicate checks, reconciliation of data, imports, exports, etc.);
      • Attend meetings and webinars on relevant topics as available;
      • Support with special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

        QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

        • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme from a recognized university OR recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognized university;
        • University course attendance in the past 12 months.

          KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

          • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel - use of formulas, pivot tables etc.).

            Desirable

            • Experience in fundraising (particularly in Individual Giving or Supporter Care);
            • Understanding of digital marketing, such as email.

              Required soft skills

              • Strong analytical skills;
              • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills;
              • Ability to plan and organize work with reasonable supervision;
              • Ability to take initiative to solve problems and seek solutions;
              • Work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and international organization;
              • Demonstrate ability to quickly shift from one task to another to meet multiple support needs;
              • Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information with a variety of individuals (people oriented);
              • Motivated team spirit and contributed to an inclusive and sound working environment (team player).


                WORKING LANGUAGES

                Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C)

                Excellent written and spoken German is required

                Fluency in German, Arabic and/or French would be an asset.


                SUPERVISION

                Under the direct supervision of Regular Giving Specialist.


                TRAINING COMPONENTS

                Throughout their assignment WFP interns have access to an industry leading learning platform, weLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds, he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars, as appropriate.


                LEARNING ELEMENTS

                At the end of the assignment, the Intern should:

                Have a better understanding of fundraising communications and best practice, project management, supporter care operations.
                Have the ability to develop basic reports and analyse data.

                Experience delivery of an end-to-end project within a set timeline.

                TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

                • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
                • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
                • WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
                • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
                • Candidates who bear any of the following relations to WFP staff members are not eligible to apply: sons, daughters, brothers or sisters.
