This internship is located in Beirut, Lebanon. The Intern will be reporting to the Climate Change Regional Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Climate Change Regional Coordinator the intern will: a. Support in research, analysis and presenting information gathered from diverse sources to support the implementation of UNEP West Asia project activities related to climate change in the region. b. Provide support in capturing, managing, and analyzing of data/information. c. Provide support in mapping different political contexts in the West Asia region and providing the insights and regular updates. d. Providing support in compiling country climate profiles. e. Providing support in drafting and preparing press releases and news stories. f. Carry out any other additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the direct supervisor. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, business or public administration, social science, environmental law, or related field. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D.
