    BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

    In Malawi Country Office (CO), Partnerships and Communication are at the core of the Country Strategic Plan. The Partnerships, Reports and Communication Unit provides leadership and expertise to WFP’s positioning, partnering and resourcing efforts to continue Saving Lives and Changing Lives. To this effect, the Unit steers WFP’s strategic engagement with governments, the UN system and its Member States, corporations, global foundations, international financial institutions, and the public at large.

    Under the direct supervision of the Head of Partnerships, Reports and Communication, the Partnerships, Reports and Communication intern will support CO’s strategic engagement with traditional and non-traditional donors, UN agencies, private partners, Regional Bureau and Headquarters among others.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Key Responsibilities: Partnerships, Communications and reports support

    The intern will support the Partnerships and Advocacy team in strengthening WFP’s engagement with donors and partners. This role offers an opportunity to learn about resource mobilisation, donor relations and advocacy within a humanitarian and development context. Specifically, the incumbent will:

    • Support the PRC team in preparing presentations, briefing notes and other donor-facing materials to strengthen WFP’s engagement with partners.
    • Assist with organising donor visits, mission and events, including logistical arrangements and preparation of supporting documents.
    • Contribute to the development of advocacy and communication products such as fact sheets, short briefs and social media content that promote activities within the WFP’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP).
    • Conduct basic research on potential partners, funding opportunities and thematic areas, and compile relevant data to inform donor engagement and reporting.
    • Assist in drafting donor-facing products such as concept notes, summaries, and updates, ensuring information is clear and well-structured.
    • Help with editing and formatting reports for partners and internal use, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
    • Assist the Partnerships, Communications, and Reports team with internal communications and staff training materials.
