Job description

You will support the project Sino-German Cooperation on Low Carbon Transport (CLCT) commissioned by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) in the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) implemented by GIZ China.
The project is part of the Sustainable Mobility Team of GIZ and supports Chinese policy makers in relevant governmental authorities to be equipped with effective and efficient (implementation) strategies to further develop climate-friendly transport in China, such as freight transport and passenger transport. The project is jointly implemented by the Department of Transport Service, Ministry of Transport (MoT) and GIZ.

Your tasks

Assisting in the research work for the projects in the field of climate-friendly, sustainable and integrated urban passenger transport and freight and logistics, with a focus on Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP), active mobility, and intermodal transport Assisting to draft and review reports and briefings, including policy, regulation, standard, industry and business news and updates Assisting with research outputs dissemination activities, e.g., creating infographics based on report content, writing blog articles, providing recommendations on report layouting, etc. Analysing trends, relevant information and preparing presentations Supporting the organization of project events (workshops, study tours, trainings, etc.) Support the implementation of the external communication of the projects (social media updates and newsletter preparation) Pro-actively contributing to the knowledge and expertise for sustainable urbanisation and transportation.

Your profile

Excellent student or recent graduates with a major in transport, economics, political science, urban studies or a comparable subject Initial practical work experiences (including internships) in relevant fields Strong ability to quickly analyse and summarize information in writing and presentation Creativity and willingness to think inside and outside the box Language: German native, English fluent (written and spoken), Chinese added advantage but not required Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is an advantage.

We pay a monthly stipend of €1.797,- (gross).
