Information Management Associate
Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Information Management Associate supports the production and dissemination of information on the population of concern, including but not limited to Protection and Programme information.
The incumbent operationalizes data standards developed at the central level in field operations, compiles and explores data from all populations of concern. S/he supports the Programme Team and UNHCR's implementing partners in the choice of indicators for monitoring to be included in sub-agreements as well as the Protection Team in operationalizing protection monitoring systems.

Duties
- Operationalize country-specific common data standards and promote them with partners, including UNHCR data standards and the IASC Common Operational Datasets.
- Compile and aggregate information elements required to produce standardized information products and implement data/information collection plans for baseline and context-specific data.
- Collect, collate and process information and perform data quality and consistency control.
- Produce summary statistics.
- Support the coordination of data collection teams.
- Support and leverage geographic data for map production and use in geographic information systems (GIS).
- Share UNHCR data with partner agencies and maintain Portal data and information in-line with agreed frequencies.
- Participate in Needs Assessment processes, specifically in data collection, processing/collation and data exploration.
- Liaise with partners and represent UNHCR in meetings related to the functions.
- Make recommendations and provide advice on the technical information management requirements.
- Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility. Ensure decision making in risk based in the functional area of work. Raise risks, issues and concerns to a supervisor or to relevant functional colleague(s).

For G6 - 3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher

Essential
Experience with handling confidential data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
Desirable
Experience in web design and software development is an asset. Ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile • Demonstrated geospatial analytical skills applied to humanitarian and development scenarios.
• Demonstrated work experience with database management related to GIS.
• Experience with relevant GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Map, and/or QGIS.
• Demonstrated work experience, implementing and maintaining geographic data collection systems.
• Advanced Excel skills (power query, DAX, conditional formatting, VLOOKUP, etc)
• Advanced visualization skills using, Excel, Power BI, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with relevant data collection platforms such as Kobo, and ActivityInfo
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to create reports and presentations for multiple audiences
• Completion of secondary education with post-secondary training/certificate in Geographic Information System (GIS), Demography, Statistics, Social Science, or a related field.
• Ability to manage highly sensitive/confidential information discretely and securely.

Operational context
The Information Management Associate (IMA) plays a key role in overseeing the collection, storage, management, validation, and analysis of data, ensuring high standards in its production and dissemination. They are tasked with implementing centrally established data standards in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all data collection activities.
The IMA will also provide essential support to UNHCR and partners on GIS related activities, he/she will contribute to the development and enhancement of data monitoring and GIS systems by creating data collection tools, building interactive platforms, and automating data products to improve efficiency and usability.
