Background of the assignment The post is located in the Conference Support Section (CSS), Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Branch (OCB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), working for the Global Programme for Implementing the Organized Crime Convention. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the responsible Associate Legal Officer in the Conference Support Section, and general supervision of the Programme Manager. 2. Purpose of the assignment The purpose of the assignment is to support various aspects of the work of the Conference Support Section (CSS), Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Branch (OCB), with a main focus on administrative tasks relating to the organization of the first meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Group on Crimes that Affect the Environment Falling within the Scope of the Organized Crime Convention and Related Offences Covered by the Convention, and an informal expert group meeting to review and validate a draft gap analysis of the international legal framework with respect to crimes that affect the environment. 3. Specific tasks to be performed by the individual contractor Under the direct supervision of the responsible Associate Legal Officer, and the overall guidance of the Programme Manager, the individual contractor will perform the following specific tasks: • Provide administrative support to the preparation, organization and holding of the second meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Group on Crimes that Affect the Environment Falling within the Scope of the Organized Crime Convention and Related Offences Covered by the Convention (IEG), tentatively scheduled to take place between 23 and 27 February 2026; • Upload onto SHERLOC a minimum of 30 legislative provisions; • Support during presentations of SHERLOC to member states and individual contributors; • Perform tasks related to awareness-raising, including assisting in and creating visual materials (such as Powerpoint presentations, brochures and flyers); • Assist in maintaining and updating the IEG website, including through uploading relevant documentation; and • Assist in the preparation of documents and outgoing official communications. Qualifications/special skills- A high school degree or equivalent is required - A minimum of one year of experience in conference servicing, preferably in an international setting, is required. - Knowledge of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime is desirable. - Familiarity with web content managements systems (such as WebCMS) is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required.
