Background:
The Impairment Advisor (IA) will be hired to assess, advise on and refine extant building, facilities and in-house assessments, on the spectrum of physical, visual and other impairment factors (IF’s) with a view to proposing practical implementation of improvements. This is not a thesis.
Potential practical, theoretical, training and awareness improvements will be listed and from this an improvement plan will be developed by GS/BMS for implementation over time with management support.
This IA is envisaged to engage with the OMIK Building Management Services (BMS) team via the CGS and CFA while reporting findings regarding issues and progress. Presentation of finding to senior management may be required.
This is planned to be a time resource of maximum 8 days.
The role is foreseen to be assurance/advisory role, not a project lead/manager
Objective of Assignment:
The objective is to offer independent and specialist assessment and advice to the preparation and development of OMiKs facilities from the viewpoint of personal impairment.
Duration of Assignment:
The Consultant will be hired for 8 working days.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Review, advise and report on status of preparatory documentation and condition and status of site and works at point of recruitment Post initial report (1) act on agreed findings, mainly expected to be outlining a list of potential improvements that could be made going forward to improve internal assessment and facilities to address or mitigate IF’s and may include training and awareness factors.
Deliverables:
Initial report after detail discussions and review of extant documentation/assessments and site visits where required. To assess extant IF assessment with a view to improvement and/or validity.
Outlined and detailed list of IA improvement points. Confirmation of extant IF assessment (s) and possible physical exercise to update. Final report/Post Project Evaluation Report summary to feed into OMiK internal review.
Necessary Qualifications:
A Degree Level Civil/Building Engineer or Architect, with evidenced specializations addressing disabilities, Impairment Factors in the office/employment environment; Minimum 5 years of professional/working experience in industry, business or academia. Experience in Disabilities/impairment factor in the built employment environment Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and local language(s) Digital literacy and proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, videoconferencing etc
Remuneration Package:
Remuneration will be based on the selected consultant's/expert's qualifications, experience, the tasks and deliverables for this position and in accordance with the OSCE established rates.
