About this position
The Corporate Affairs and Transparency Office (CAT) and the Information Technology and Analytics Division (AKI) is seeking to produce an assessment of the existent IDB Invest’s data architecture and integration, from data capture to display on the website and external datasets, to incorporate transparency and disclosures along the project cycle.
The primary goal of this consultancy is to assess and propose an end-to-end system to capture, store, handle, display and publish project information fields, identifying the processes allowing the data flow from integrations of diverse internal platforms to the website, as well as displaying them in a user-oriented way. This process will also include assessing the formatting of the project information in open data formats.
What you’ll do
The consultant’s main responsibilities include:
· Assess the current processes that allow project information to be published from current internal platforms to external displays.
· Determine data efficiencies that allow scalability and promote transparency.
· Assess and identify improvements in the publication of IDB Invest project information in open data format, following IATI standards and covering all active portfolio.
· Produce a layout concept and roadmap to redesign the presentation of project information on the website, to make it user-oriented and adequate way to reflect business purposes.
· Identify and define a system architecture, user interface, and processes required for information to be captured and flow, in a standardized way and following specific rules, from diverse internal platforms to be published and shared externally.
· Understand current systems APIs and suggest changes to facilitate and improve the performance of data extraction.
· Gather information with several business users, defining a flow for approval of data that can be externally shared.
· Assess and propose improvements for the website’s user experience design.
· Work with corporate affairs to understand and map the required data to be shared externally and be a liaison with several technology custodians to map the extraction and address the implementation of capture for additional data.
· Work with Data and Analytics team to define a centralized database for information to be public, working with resources such as datasets, databricks, collibra, SQL and Oracle.
What you'll need
· Education: Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
· Experience: At least 5 years of experience with software design, user experience design, architecture or delivery, with proven background in definition and implementation of relational and non relational databases, hands on development and knowledge of Cloud design patterns and PaaS, preferred in Microsoft Azure technologies.
· Languages: Proficiency in English. Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.

Requirements
· Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
