The Finance and Administration Department (FNA) Department is responsible for the administration of IDB Invest’s financial resources. FNA contributes to the institutional mandate supporting the investment in the development of Latin America and the Caribbean region, through the services provided by its teams.
About this position:
You will be part of a high-energy and creative team within the Treasury Division (TRS). We are presently looking for a motivated and experienced professional with significant financial markets’ experience to join our Local Funding Solutions team activities as a consultant.
You will support the team in pricing and executing local currency and interest rate derivatives, and bond transactions (denominated in various currencies) in accordance with policy and guidelines.
What you’ll do:
- Research and assist in finding the most suitable solution to fund deals following local markets conditions and available financial products for transactions in the Region.
- Collaborate with other areas (such as Finance, Legal, Risk, and Operations) to craft innovative solutions to meet funding sourcing needs.
- Analyze, price and record debt capital markets and derivatives transactions for the back-to-back funding of development related assets in various local currencies.
- Research and keep abreast of capital markets developments in the Region. Contribute to the preparation and of market assessments and reports.
- Collaborate with the development and deployment of analytical tools and models for strengthening Treasury’s capability for quantitative analysis.
- Build and maintain a sound relationship with clients, teammates, banks, counterparties and other internal/external parties.
- Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems related to Treasury activities.
- Identify technology, infrastructure, and process gaps, as well as recommend actions to minimize operational risks.
What you'll need:
- Education: You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, BusinesAdministration, or related fields, with knowledge of financial markets and products.
- Experience: You have at least 2 years of relevant experience; familiarity with interest rate or cross-currency swaps and Bloomberg; a successful track record of achieving high quality results and delivering valuable services to meet team and departmental objectives. Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC or the Region) financial markets is a plus. A clear understanding of the operational frameworks of public sector and/or multilaterals is desired.
- Languages: You are fluent (oral and written) in English and in a second IDB Group official language (Spanish, Portuguese or French). Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
