Introduction
The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people.
Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 216 projects in 129 countries and has committed USD 12.0 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide operational support to the ICT Software Development Team within the Office of Administrative Services. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by assisting in the development of internal platforms of the Fund. The intern will also be exposed to different areas of development work pertaining to frontend and backend, such as, API management, UI/UX development, CI/CD pipelines, as well as AI-related development.
Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the ICT Software Development Team, the Intern is expected to:
Support development of the internal web applications managed by the team.
Assist in research of software libraries, frameworks, and solutions to ongoing projects.
Work closely with the team on improving the user experience of web applications.
Write documentation and perform testing of new and existing applications and features.
Supporting the Development Team in other administrative work as required.
Requirements and qualifications
Enrolled and pursuing last year of Master’s program (or recently graduated) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields;
Strong interest and understanding of web development and AI/ML technologies;
Ability and willingness to learn and utilise modern software development tools and Cloud platform environments;
Proficiency in at least one programming language;
Excellent writing and presentation skills;
Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other United Nations languages is an advantage.
