    Supervision received: The Helper reports to a WFP Administration Unit

    Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Helper will be responsible for the following duties: (These duties neither are generic and thus not all inclusive nor are all duties carried out by all Helpers)

    Provide basic site maintenance and installation work (e.g. generators, water pumps, water heaters, etc.) including carpentry work and basic site repairs, ensuring well-functioning equipment. Provide pottering and cleaning services (e.g. moving assets, reorganizing/installing workstations, assisting in setting up conference/meeting/event locations, removing waste materials, emergency cleaning, etc.), to facilitate organized and safe work environment Work with hand tools and basic light machinery to perform basic maintenance requirements. Support preparation of maintenance of kitchen area and equipment to facilitate efficient service. Maintain and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations. Perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking. Perform other related duties as required.

    Critical Success factors:

    Trustworthy, high sense of responsibility, physically fit, courteous and tactful; ability to operate and maintain in good working order. Office cleaning or grounds-keeping equipment. Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

    Minimum Qualifications and experience:

    Education: elementary educational requirements.

    Experience: Some related work experience.

    Knowledge: Knowledge of simple machine operations and use of cleaning materials/solutions, etc.

    Language: Working Knowledge of English

    Read, speak and write Arabic

    الإشراف: يعمل عامل النظافة تحت اشراف وحدة الادارة في المؤسسة.

    المساءلة: في إطار السلطة المفوضة، فإن عامل النظافة يكون مسؤولا عن المهام التالية (هذه الواجبات ليست حصرية ولا تعكس كل المهام التي تضطلع بها هذه الوظيفة):

    • التنظيف الشامل، بما في ذلك تنظيف الارض والحمامات والزجاج ومسح الغبار وتلميع الاسطح.
    • أعمال الكهرباء: أعمال صيانة الكهرباء البسيطة من الاضاءة، الكوابل، المقابس والوصلات. الابلاغ عن اي خلل في الكهرباء او النقاط غير الامنة.
    • أعمال السباكة: أعمال صيانه بسيطة للمواسير واماكن التسريب ان وجد من تغير وغيرها. صيانه السخانات والاجهزة الاخرى.
    • أعمال النجارة: صيانة و تصليحات بسيطة للابواب والأثاث المكتبي وغيرها.
    • أعمال الدهان: القيام بأعمال الدهان البسيطة من دهان الجدران، وتنظيفها من البقع. وتصليح الجدران المتضررة.
    • أعمال البستنة: من تسميد وري المزروعات. زراعة اشجار وضبط ساعات الضغط.
    • صيانة وتنظيف المكاتب وجميع المعدات المستخدمة في التنظيف.
    • الالتزام ببرنامج العمل اليومي واي تغييرات قد تطرا عليه او تطلب منه/ منها عبر المدير المباشر.
    • القيام باية اعمال اخرى تتطلبها الوظيفة.

      عوامل النجاح:
      ان يكون المتقدم جدير بالثقة، لديه شعور عال بالمسؤولية، لائقا بدنيا، وقادر على التعامل بلباقة وبصبر مع الناس من ثقافات وقوميات مختلفة.

      الحد الأدنى من المؤهلات والخبرات المطلوبة:

      التعليم: حاصل على الشهادة الابتدائية ولديه/ها القدرة على القراءة والكتابة

      الخبرة: سنة خبرة في اعمال ذات الصلة (يفضل من عملوا في مؤسسات).
      المعرفة: خبرة جيدة باعمال الصيانة الاولية واستخدام المواد والادوات المناسبة لذلك.

      اللغة: القدرة على المحادثة والتواصل باللغة الانجليزية واجادة اللغة العربية قراءة وكتابة ومحادثة

      **The Service Contract (SC) is a decentralized contracting instrument refer to specific guidelines provided and updated by HQ Policy team. It is a flexible contract modality use only by WFP Country Offices. The remuneration of SC holders is based on services satisfactorily provided in accordance with the Terms of Reference under the SC. Remuneration is made on a monthly basis and may include a sum for pension purposes, as described in Manual Section III.7.6.5.

      The SC holders are covered under the safety and security measures implemented by the COs and RBs and must comply with the relevant security instructions under the Security Plan.

      Following is brief guidance on the contract modality entitlement:

      Contract Type: Service Contract

      Grade Level: 1

      Duty Station: Palestine Country Office

      Job Title: Helper (Cleaning, Maintenance and gardening) – based in Jerusalem

      Duration: 12 months

      Required years of relevant experience: 1 year and more

      Remuneration (Monthly): As per SC Salary scale

      Health coverage: Under CIGNA- co-cost sharing

      Social Insurance: 8.33% monthly added to the net base salary

      Renewal of contract: Subject to WFP needs, staff performance and the availability of funds

      Annual leave: 2.5 days per month

      Sick Leave: 2 Days per month

      Taxes: Remuneration under SC is not exempt from national or local taxation

      Medical Clearance: Required

      Eligibility to apply: National resident or having a valid visa/ permit to live and to work in Palestine
