Background Information
Crown Agents has been at the forefront of the global Covid-19 response supporting governments to ensure that essential health services continue. Our work has spanned from procurement and distribution of PPE, prevention, screening and treatment of Covid-19, home-based case management, training of HCWs and CHWs, to most recently procuring, distributing and implementing Covid-19 vaccine programmes in multiple countries.
Crown Agents has been present in Ethiopia, Kenya and Zimbabwe for decades supporting the respective Governments across a broad spectrum of activities including health and human development, procurement and supply chain, governance and economic growth and training.
Objective of consultancy
The objective of this consultancy is to develop training materials for health care workers to upskill them on the appropriate use of oxygen to Covid-19 patients based on WHO guidelines including training on the use of oxygen therapy devices. This will also include training on pulse oximetry as the principal reference tool to clinical decision making.
Scope of Work
The consultant will develop training materials for health care workers (nurses, clinical officers and medical officers based at health facilities. The training should last a total of 3 days and should include dedicated time to clinical training and operation of oxygen equipment.
The consultant should develop training tools to measure progress on the training through pre and post test evaluations as well as a skills evaluation.
The training will be cascade using a TOT approach with a local master trainer selected in each country to deliver the trainings. The Consultant will deliver the training to the master trainers remotely.
Experience and Qualifications
This position will be remote, with close liaison between London, Addis, Harare and Nairobi.
