Terms of ReferenceThe Data Analyst Consultant position is located within the TOSU Team of the Global Mobility and Infrastructure Service (GMIS) within the Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM) with a focus on Greening and Sustainability. DFAM contributes to safeguarding the financial resources entrusted to UNHCR by maintaining and improving the financial and administrative systems, policies and procedures and promoting cost-effective and transparent use of these resources. GMIS is a new service within DFAM which merges four functions: global fleet management, global travel, global facilities management, and global asset management.
The Data Analyst Consultant will focus mainly on supporting the Greening & Sustainability Team in performing analyses for countries hosting UNHCR offices, assessing each country’s usage of renewable energy sources. The Greening the Blue Report (GtB) is a yearly report detailing the UN System's environmental footprint and efforts to reduce it. The Green Data Consultant will be leading the data visualisation process for Greening the Blue 2025 reporting cycle with all UNHCRs 550 offices, as well as all for green data in general. The Data Analyst Consultant will develop and expand The Globe, and visualisation of all green data. The Data Analyst Consultant will lead and support GMIS in merging the four functions (global fleet management, global travel, global facilities management, and global asset management) through the development of the data lake house. Furthermore, the Data Analyst Consultant will support the TOSU team with analysis and visualization tools requested.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Lead the enhancement of the Globe visualization tool by integrating new features and functionalities.
• Generate green and fleet data visualizations in formats tailored to senior management requirements.
• Lead the data visualization initiatives for the GtB 2024 and GtB 2025 reporting cycles across all 550 UNHCR offices worldwide.
• Offer technical support for GtB 2024 and GtB 2025 reporting to UNHCR offices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct thorough checks on results to guarantee the correct processing of data.
• Facilitate the aggregation of green data from each UNHCR office within the Data Lake house to enhance later use in various visualizations, including the Globe.
• Lead the development of the Data Lake house.
• Oversee the communication strategies and materials for the Globe visualization tool, organizational events, and sustainability initiatives.
• Engage and align with key internal stakeholders, including UNHCR Headquarters, Regional Bureaux, and Country and Field offices, to ensure cohesive operations and communications.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support departmental objectives.

Deliverables:
• Innovate and implement new features for the Globe visualization, serving as the primary contact for related support inquiries.
• Develop and enhance visualization tools and analyses for GtB 2024, GtB 2025, and fleet data, ensuring they meet strategic goals and reporting standards.
• In collaboration with DIST, establish comprehensive data models and subject areas tailored specifically for GMIS data within the data lakehouse framework.

Delivery Periodicity, as applicable: Regular oral updates and each working month short written summary of work done to be together submitted with invoice, actions required from co-workers and information on the work steps to follow, as well as pending items that need resolution.
