Every year, millions of people around the world go missing as a result of conflict, human rights abuses, disasters, organized crime, irregular migration, and other causes. This is a complex global challenge that can be tackled effectively through cross-cutting programs that address a variety of difficult, interconnected issues.
The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) is the only international organization tasked exclusively to work on the issue of missing persons. It works with governments and other stakeholders, including families of the missing, to help them develop and maintain successful missing persons processes. To learn more about ICMP click here.
Position Background
Reporting to the Communications Manager (HQ) the main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Design, on demand, products including factsheets, brochures, reports, posters, roll-ups, banners, backdrops, folders, presentation slides and other online and print publications and outreach material

Provide designs in languages including English, Arabic, Spanish and others as needed
-
Develop an updated visual identity guide for ICMP

Develop templates for specific types of products, such as factsheets
-
Provide design input in the development of a new website
-
Develop online and social media content, including animations
-
Provide editable files of selected content.
The workload will vary and is expected to include at a minimum (subject to change):

Six reports per year
-
Four factsheets per year
-
Three brochures per year.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, multi-media production, communication, journalism or other relevant discipline
-
At least 4 years of relevant professional experience
-
Expertise in graphic design/multimedia production for several formats and platforms
-
Experience developing compelling content to attract and engage new audiences
-
Proven ability to create multilingual graphic design products/multimedia productions for international, non-governmental or non-profit organizations

Knowledge and understanding of global digital communication and trends
-
Ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and staff, while demonstrating sound judgment and cultural sensitivity

Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
-
Ability to work effectively within a diverse team
-
Willing to work additional hours at critical times
-
Ability to multitask heavy workloads in a challenging environment
-
Energy, creativity and ability to plan and organize.
Mandatory Requirements

Professional fluency in written and spoken English;
-
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point;

Proven ability to interact positively with colleagues regardless of culture, nationality or gender;

Ability to travel at short notice and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings;
-
Commitment to the underlying objective of helping the authorities and families of the missing to account for missing persons in an impartial and transparent manner.
Benefits
Salary is based on a daily rate and is dependent on budget availability.
