About IRAP
The International Refugee Assistance Project (“IRAP”) is a dynamic and growing legal, policy, and advocacy organization that works to develop and enforce a system of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced people around the world. We provide free and comprehensive legal services to people we serve through registration, protection, and resettlement processes.
Through this work, we aim to assist refugees and other displaced people to find safe passage and to transform the landscape of refugee rights in the U.S. and internationally. IRAP has developed an innovative legal aid and advocacy model that defends the rights of refugees and assures their passage to safe destination countries. Through individual casework, litigation, and systemic advocacy, IRAP brings legal challenges to refugee rights violations, creating solutions to overcoming the legal and bureaucratic impediments in the resettlement process, and developing an enforceable system of legal and procedural rights for refugees and displaced persons. IRAP utilizes lessons learned in individual casework to advocate for systemic changes that benefit the broader refugee populations. IRAP is a growing, nimble organization staffed by an innovative and collaborative team that is committed to high standards of quality and close partnerships with our clients, peers, and colleagues.
IRAP has over 60 full-time staff and operates offices in the U.S. (New York City), Jordan (Amman), and Lebanon (Beirut). This new position will be based out of our Berlin office, which we seek to open as soon as possible. The Berlin office will be a new hub for our work in Europe to assist clients seeking relocation to EU Member States through family reunification and other legal pathways.
We are founding IRAP Berlin as the hub for our activities in Germany and Europe and are therefore recruiting a Germany Operations Manager to manage the registration, startup, and operations of this new legal entity. The Germany Operations Manager will serve as the managing director (Geschäftsführer) for IRAP Berlin. The Germany Operations Manager will report to IRAP’s Chief Operating Officer, who is based in New York City, and will be a member of IRAP’s Operations team, which manages the organization’s internal infrastructure including finance, administration, human resources, and information technology.
