IFC Treasury Valuation and Analysis is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Financial Officer to provide Treasury Middle Office support. The Financial Officer will assist the TVA Manager. As such, The Financial Officer will collaborate closely with colleagues in IFC Treasury, Treasury Risk, IFC Controller’s and Information and Technology Solutions (ITS), and other units to ensure goals are aligned, client needs are met and that internal controls work effectively. S/he will be based in Washington, DC, reporting directly to the head of TVA.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Officer should:
Lead part of the TVA work program with primary responsibilities including:• Oversee the running of the performance, scripts, and models, and check and prepare data for reporting purposes;• Lead the validation and monthly review of output for reporting;• Monitor and report internal P&L and portfolio performance;• Prepare consolidated risk reporting for compliance and trading purposes;• Address inquiries and challenges from Front Office, Risk, and the Controller’s Departments; • Provide explanation on P&L and key risk indicators’ movements;• Oversee the reporting activities to various stakeholders such as Front Office, Treasury Risk, the Controller’s Department, and relevant corporate units, according to requirements;• Investigate and resolve complex issues related to the performance function and refer resolution to the appropriate component owner;• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to clients;• Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders of the performance process.• Prepare and maintain live documentation of current practice in relation to individual and group work;• Keep abreast of the industry’s best practices and technologies used;
Mentor junior colleagues• Encourage knowledge sharing across team members• Organize stream-specific brown bag sessions • Foster an all-inclusive environment and enable all colleagues to achieve a level of operational excellence.
Review the business process • Implement productivity-enhancing utilities and applications• Coordinate efforts within the stream to leverage technology so as to reduce process time and create time for analysis.• See that ad hoc analysis can be streamlined to enable quick refresh of analysis at later times
Assist TVA management• Pro-actively support TVA management with talent building within TVA, facilitating a high-caliber, competent, and professional team• Help with the transfer of additional activities as requested by stakeholders or the management• Assist in additional projects as needed within TVA
Selection Criteria
• Master's or higher degree in a relevant discipline with at least 8 years of experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility;• Successful track record of achieving high-quality results, managing relevant middle office operations, and delivering client value-added services to meet team and departmental objectives;• Excellent knowledge of Treasury business, organization, systems, and processes strongly preferred;• Proven ability to challenge the status quo to build the business;• Ability to collaborate closely within the World Bank Group;• Superior written and verbal communications skills and ability to convey complex financial issues concisely to management, colleagues, and clients, including IFC Treasury and IFC Treasury Risk;• High degree of motivation to enhance productivity and efficiency using computer system;• Careful attention to detail and reliability of the output;• Ability to work under pressure;• Excellent communication skills to explain the logic behind the analysis;• Self-motivated and able to work in a diverse global team;• Knowledge of fixed income mathematics, exotic derivatives, and information technology;• Be a mentor to more junior colleagues and provide training and knowledge sharing opportunities within the team;• Proficiency in various software, systems, and applications, including Summit, Murex, Numerix, Bloomberg, Reuters;• CFA/FRM or any other equivalent quantitative certification is a plus.
