Purpose of the role

The purpose of the technical officer position is day to day implementation of the finance functions responsibilities. 

What you will do

Ensure adherence with NRC Finance policies, tools, handbooks and guidelinesImplement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of actionPrepare and develop status reports as required by managementEnsure proper filing of documents Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support functionPromote and share ideas for technical improvementEnsure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skillsPrepare and submit reports and analysisSupport line manager in procedures and require support team training

Specifically, you will;

Support the Area Support Coordinator and AM in monthly BvA processSupport budget holders with queries and questionsResponsible for managing the daily accounting activities at the Area office.Ensure accounting and recording are in the line with NRC finance guidelinesResponsible for ensuring timely submission of the monthly forecast, and payroll.Responsible for timely booking transactions in NRC accounting system using the correct budget codesResponsible for the Audit process for Area Office, providing required documents by Country Office. Deliver training for non-finance staff at the Area office when require.Ensure proper filing of all support documents in accordance with the SSD country SOPRegular visits to Sub Offices in Tuz and Ramadi (minimum monthly to each sub office)

Experience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery contextPrevious experience from working in complex and volatile contextsDocumented results related to the position’s responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of English Written and spoken fluency in ArabicPrevious experience working with budgets and accounting with an INGOStrong history of compliance to SOPs and regulations. Proven attention to detailProven ability to coordinate with multiple departmentsProactive in problem solving and removing bottlenecksProven ability to share informationAbility to travel and stay in Tuz and Ramadi sub offices regularly

Contract Duration: until 31 December, 2024 (our contract renewal cycle runs from January to December)
Duty Station: Baghdad- Iraq with 40% travel to Tuz and Ramadi
