Finance Officer will be responsible in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial administration. This position will play a key role in supporting Finance Coordinator and Finance Manager focusing in operational finance of WRI Indonesia. The Finance Officer is expected to manage routine processes to ensure the smooth functioning of the Finance Team with a high level of engagement and attention to detail.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will also work closely and collaboratively with other operation function in WRI Indonesia such as Grants & Contract, Accounting, Project Assistant, and regularly with the Global Office Finance Team to ensure the efficiency and effectivity of operational finance of WRI Indonesia. This position will be based in Jakarta with an office-flex working arrangement.

This role performs complex tasks requiring multiple variables to determine a proper course of action. It implements routine tasks independently and applies knowledge and principles of the function for solving problems requiring analysis of non-routine factors. The role is expected to make most decisions within pre-determined approaches and keep track of information to assist in new decisions.

What You Will Do

Budget Management and Administration (40%)

Review payment requests to ensure alignment with approved indirect budgets and funding allocations before processing.

Maintain a record of approved indirect budgets, tracking actual spending against the approved indirect budget across multiple core function budgets.

Review and track monthly expenses and staff labor hours.

Assist with expense reports, payment request, cash advances, and other transactions.

Ensure compliance with all internal WRI budgeting procedures and contract process timelines

Cash Flow and Treasury Support (30%)

  • Monitor daily and weekly cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operational and project needs.
  • Compile and summarize cash inflows and outflows, ensuring alignment with actual cash availability and donor restrictions.
  • Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts by collecting project-level financial schedules and payment timelines.
  • Manage bank accounts in both IDR and foreign currencies (e.g., USD), ensuring accurate tracking of balances, currency movements, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with banking institutions
  • Ensure compliance with WRI’s internal controls for cash handling and treasury operations, including appropriate approvals and documentation retention

    Operational Finance (30%)

    • Record and update financial data needed regularly
    • Update the grants list and pipeline list regularly.
    • Assist with time sheet management.
    • Support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Manager in managing project-specific financial administration
    • Monitor Work at Risk (WAR) requests.

      What You Will Need

      • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other related field.
      • Minimum 3 (three) years of full-time work experience in accounting and/or banking or financial management with strong interest in administration, operations, and budgeting.
      • Previous working experience in non-profit or development sector will be an advantage
      • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting processes, familiarity with managing multi-currency bank accounts, treasury processes, and payment systems
      • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities supported with ability to manage multiple deadlines while deliver high-quality work product
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
      • Ability and willingness to travel
      • Legally able to work in Indonesia

        Contract Arrangement

        Full-time with fixed-term employment agreement up to 31 December 2026 with 3 (three) months of consultancy contract apply before the fixed-term employment agreement started.

          Must have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position.

          Final candidates might be required to take a writing test and to produce two writing samples when needed.
