1. Role and responsibilities
Provide technical expertise and support for the implementation of education projects, focusing on education, youth engagement, and related activities. Oversee the high-quality execution of NRC's education program, collaborating with Education team members under the guidance of the Project Manager. Conduct regular field visits, monitor project activities, provide technical trainings and support, perform project management tasks, and enhance overall capacity to ensure program quality in alignment with NRC's policies and procedures.

2. Ensure projects target people most in need of protection and explore innovative approaches to assist.
3. Advocate for the rights of IDPs/returnees in alignment with the advocacy strategy.

6. Provide technical input to coordination mechanisms (e.g., cluster coordination) and working groups as guided by the Education Project Manager.
7. Ensure regular and consistent information flow within the team and with the line manager through reporting and updates.

Specific responsibilities

Better Learning Programme:

Manage and execute the planning, organization, and implementation of Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities within the NRC Better Learning Programme package, including trainings facilitation, assessment and reporting, community/parent engagement initiatives.

Formal and non-formal education:

Support the planning and implementation of formal, and non-formal education activities, including trainings facilitation, assessment and reporting, community/parent engagement initiatives.

Youth:

Provide technical support and guidance on youth engagement activities.

Project Management:

1. Implement NRC school grants related activities for school improvement.
2. Conduct field visits and monitor project progress and submit high quality reports.
3. Conduct education needs assessments, including planning, coordination, implementation, translation, and reporting for Education programme activities.
4. Assist in providing capacity building for the NRC education team and regular technical support across the activities.
5. Assist in collecting regular activity data and facilitate the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) process, including report writing.
6. Ensure project documentation is collected, filed, and maintained according to NRC procedures.
7. Maintain professional communication with Education stakeholders, local authorities, school management personnel, and teachers, and prepare meeting reports.
8. Contribute to compiling and disseminating best practices, lessons learned, recommendations, and case studies.
9. Assist in translating documents and meeting notes from English to the local language as needed.
10. Perform tasks as delegated by Education Project Manager.
11. Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise (Education, social services including psychosocial support/psychology or other relevant fields).
• Documented technical competences related to the position’s responsibilities.
• Technical specific knowledge of the humanitarian sector is an asset.

Context related skills, knowledge, and experience:
• Experience in education in emergency programming and MHPSS.
• Experience in conducting and facilitating trainings for adults and children
• Experience of working with parents and communities.
• Solid knowledge of the education system in Ukraine.
• Excellent knowledge of English both written and verbal
• Fluent in Ukrainian. Knowledge of Russian language is an asset.
