About NRC:

NRC in the Islamic Republic of Iran:
NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 10 provinces in Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counseling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in the country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives among INGOs to improve the rights of the displaced. Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran's efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in the country and is expanding its programme unit.
About Education
In 2015, an 'education' decree was issued through which all Afghan children are given access to education irrespective of their legal status in Iran. However, socio-economic and cultural barriers to the implementation of this decree remain. To support children in fulfilling their right to education, our team:
provides cash assistance to Afghan families so they can continue sending their children to schools offers accelerated education programmes, with our partner the Literacy Movement Organization, through literacy and numeracy courses for out-of-school children to help them bridge the gap and enter school at the appropriate level offers school readiness programmes for children who have never been to school to support school enrolment provides life-skill courses for school students, parents, and teachers supports the formal education system by rehabilitating classrooms and expanding existing school infrastructure (including water and sanitation facilities), and providing essential education materials including school equipment and stationery provides certified soft skills training for youth to complement vocational training provides stationery and educational materials to pupils to facilitate their home-schooling when schools closed due to Covid-19Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Education Officer is to implement the Education related projects under the supervision of Education Team Leader, with support of Area South Field office. He/she will also provide input and ideas to the Education Team Leader with regards to the design and development of projects related to Education Competency within NRC Iran.
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities:
Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines, Implement delegated Education project portfolio according to plan of action, Prepare and develop status reports as required by management, Ensure proper filing of documents, Ensure that projects target the people we work for are most in need, and explore and assess new and better ways to assist, Promote and share ideas for technical improvement, Promote the rights of refugees and displaced in line with the advocacy strategy, Identify and report protection needs and gaps, explore and propose new and safer ways to assist.Specific responsibilities
Assist the Education Team Leader in the preparation of gap analyses, proposals, budget utilization reports/analyses and other relevant documentation ensuring accuracy and consistency with NRC’s rules and regulations, Conduct regular field visits, monitor progress and implementation of activities, Implement delegated project portfolio according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plan of action, Conduct regular needs assessment, M&E visits and where possible inform and involve communities, Conduct regular planning and monitoring in Non-Formal Education activities (BLP, Catch-up Courses, LMO, SRP). Being accountable to the people we work for Initiate and implement awareness raising activities on importance of education in collaboration with local authorities and local communities, Attend technical cooperation meetings with NRC’s counterparts in the Education field, prepare notes and undertake follow-up action and coordination related to project implementation and monitoring, Collaborate with Finance, HR, Admin, and logistics officers to ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and in accordance with NRC procedures, Ensure proper filing of all project documents within the education unit, Ensure proper providing of GORS and Reconciliation activities, Coordinate and exchange information with all CCs officers, Having flexibility in operating education activities according to necessity, in communicating with local partners and other relevant organizations.Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in education, political science, sociology, statistics, or related fields, Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context, Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts, Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.Context related skills, knowledge and experience:

Salary: based on NRC grade structure- This position is grade 5 of the organizational grading and structure
