The Pension and Endowments Department (PEN) is responsible for the financial management and administration of the World Bank Group's funded benefit plans, including the retirement scheme - the Staff Retirement Plan, the retiree medical and life insurance programs - the Retired Staff Benefits Plan, and other ancillary benefits. Financial management includes asset management responsibilities and actuarial support. PEN manages about $45 billion invested across a range of asset classes, from fixed income to public equities to private equity, real assets and absolute return strategies. The Pension Finance Committee, appointed by the Bank Group President and chaired by the Chief Financial Officer, has oversight responsibility for the financial management of the plans.
The Pension Middle Office team (PENMO) under PEN is responsible for providing a full range of functions supporting these investment activities, including the following: i) pension plan operational activities, ii) preparation of pension plans financial statements, iii) pension investment performance and attribution, iv) monitoring asset class exposures, v) all investment asset pricing and valuation, and vi) third-party clients’ reporting.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Assess current business processes and data infrastructure to pinpoint use cases for agentic AI/Copilot.• Plan and implement Agentic AI/Copilot agents into production environments with minimal disruptions• Identify and deliver training sessions/options for team members.• Manage agent knowledge sources, ensuring data quality and compliance with data classification policies.• Support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of deployed agents.• Collaborate with ITS to ensure solutions meet organizational standards.• Provide user training, documentation, and support for Copilot and AI-powered solutions.• Support the team with managing information flows to data storage systems, querying • Keep abreast of industry’s best practices and technological improvements pertaining to the team’s functions.
Selection Criteria
• Combination of degrees/certifications in Computer Science/ AI with at least 2-3 years' experience in financial projects in investment middle offices or operations functions.• Certifications in Power Platform (PL-200/PL-400/PL-600), Microsoft 365 (MS-900/MS-600/MCSA), data analytics and/or finance background will be a plus.• Sound knowledge of generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and responsible AI use with demonstrated skills in Python and SQL.• Fundamental knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint integration).• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot and its integration into tools like Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Fabric, and Teams.• Successfully completed project portfolio using tools such as Copilot Studio for specific business needs in fields of banking and/or investments.• Ability to create agents from plain-language prompts and refine them iteratively.• A good understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes, including solution management, deployment, and use of solution checkers.• Ability to teach and train other people in the areas above in context of their business needs.• Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written.• High level of initiative, self-confidence and self-starter; ability to apply a practical mature approach to problem solving with minimum supervision.• Commitment to working in a respectful, team-oriented, and multi-cultural environment.• Highest ethical standards.
