NRC is opening an office ‘hub’ in Ramallah. It is seeking a professional, confidential and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join its team as a Driver. 

Generic responsibilities 

  1. Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved
  2. Ensure the safety and security of the passengers, the goods and the vehicle
  3. Immediately report accidents, breakdowns and needs of repair and general maintenance/service
  4. Respect the local traffic regulations and the NRC logistical/vehicle policies at all times
  5. Maintain eFS (electron fleet system) for all trips
  6. Maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition at all times, including keeping the vehicle clean, ensuring enough fuel, checking the technical state etc. 
  7. In liaison with the line manager, arrange for repairs and servicing 
  8. Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the necessary documents and equipment 
  9. Provide logistical support during trainings and workshops

     

    Specific responsibilities 

    These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. 

     

    • Perform safe and secure transportation of NRC personnel and deliveries throughout the West Bank 
    • Adhere to daily movement schedules and, where necessary, assisting with organising schedules to ensure maximum efficiency. 
    • Observe the route, road, location, destination and security situation in each journey and report back to the Security Focal Point in case of any incident. 
    • Adhere to all NRC Palestine security and safety policies and guidelines, including any updated information.  
    • Perform carrying out loading/unloading duties as required.  
    • Report immediately any accident following NRC procedures applicable in such situation 
    • Carry out other tasks as directed by management. 
    • Abide by traffic laws and other laws applicable to the routes at all times 
    • Cross check points in line with NRC standards and procedures 
    • Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management 

      Generic professional competencies for this position: 

    • Valid driver’s license
  10. Experience from working as a Driver in a humanitarian/recovery context
