Work LocationBogota, Valledupar, Medellin, Quibdo, Cucuta, Florencia, San Jose del Guaviare, Pasto, Popayan, Cali, Villavicencio Expected durationThrough 30 June 2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesWithin the terms of organization's delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Supervisor assigned, the IC will undertake the following tasks: - Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and documents if needed. - Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors. - Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; performs minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. - Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. - Ensures that the steps required by UN rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an incident/accident. - Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given. - Follows UN driving policies, the surface transport manual and road safety regulations. - Coordinates with dispatch, supervisors, or clients regarding schedules. - Maintain punctuality and reliability at all times. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications/special skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. Driver training with a valid driver’s license are required. A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the provision of driver services is required. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, light passenger vehicles, sedans, heavy and light 4x4 sports utility vehicles (SUV's), ambulances and pick-up trucks, cargo and passenger van is required. Managing traffic forecasting and GPS navigation applications is required. Knowledge of vehicle mechanics is desirable. Valid driving license is required. Technical certificates in road safety, defensive driving, first-aid and/or Colombian transport regulations are desirable. Certificate or evidence of safe driving records in Colombia is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For these positions, fluency in Spanish is required, and knowledge of English is desirable.
