Work LocationNew York/Remote Expected durationOne month (23 December 2024 - 22 January 2025) Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund was established in 1949 by the United Nations General Assembly to provide retirement, death, disability, and related benefits for staff of the United Nations and other member organizations of the Fund. The Pension Fund pays benefits in 17 currencies to more than 80,000 beneficiaries who reside in 190 countries, and services more than 140,000 participants who work in the 24 member organizations of the Pension Fund. The Fund has offices in New York (United States) and Geneva (Switzerland) and two liaison offices in Nairobi (Kenya) and Bangkok (Thailand), respectively. The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund-Pension Administration (UNJSPF-PA) comprises about 250 staff from diverse countries and cultures, based across four prominent duty stations (New York, Geneva, Bangkok, and Nairobi). Under the supervision of the Chief Business Support Section, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties: A comprehensive assessment report that identifies areas for improvement and includes recommendations for addressing them. • A strategy and action plan that outlines specific objectives, timelines, and metrics for measuring progress. • Training materials and guidance to staff members on promoting diversity and inclusion. • Plan workshop content in collaboration with UNJSPF- Pension Administration focal person for Gender and Culture, develop and deliver the workshops and provide follow-up support. • Collecting and analyzing data on diversity metrics, and reporting on the progress of DEI initiatives. • Perform other assignments as required. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in human resource management, psychology, industrial relations, sociology, education or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the fields of human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion, education, facilitation or coaching is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the consultancy. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
