Purpose of Job

The Director, Talent and Performance Management is responsible for the development and implementation of the Bank’s talent and performance agenda. This wide remit encompasses talent and performance management, talent development, as well as staff engagement and the diversity and inclusion agenda.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Drives the development and implementation of Talent and Performance objectives under the Bank’s People Plan including:
    • Enhancing career development and promoting a high-performance culture;
    • Using existing and new frameworks to encourage planning and mobilisation of talent across the Bank;
    • Continuously building organisational capability and improving employee engagement and retention of key talent.
    • Responsible for effective and targeted delivery of Talent Development for the Bank, such as reviewing current development programmes and establishing a sustainable global learning architecture.
    • Responsible for reviewing and re-setting the Bank’s competency frameworks with clear guidance and support tools.
    • Leads the creation and sustainment of high-quality and cost-efficient programmes, systems, processes, policies and tools that enable talent assessment and development of individuals and teams.
    • Continually measures and assesses the effectiveness and business impact of all talent programmes and initiatives to ensure intended outcomes are being achieved and improvement opportunities are identified.
    • Works collaboratively with HR Management Team (HRMT) peers to develop and implement integrated HR solutions, reduce silos and support business strategy, budget and people needs.
    • Prepares Board papers and the presentation/communications of information on CoE initiatives
    • Responsible for Performance and Talent Management budget, including managing suppliers ensuring that the services provided are cost effective and meet the needs of the Bank.
    • Leads the Bank’s Diversity Agenda by defining and reinforcing the D&I goals, implementing actions, promoting education and working closely with networks.
    • Leads the Bank’s Staff Engagement programme including the measurement and action planning to support cultural change, including the accountability of the associated education and communication plans.
    • Directly accountable for the engagement and effective overall staff management including recruitment, compensation (as agreed with the Head of Department, if applicable), performance management, coaching and development.
    • Champion and role model the Bank’s Behavioural Competencies and Corporate Behaviours, ensuring adherence within the team(s) so that the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct are exhibited at all times.

      Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Organisational Psychology, Human Resources or related area) or equivalent work experience.
      • Extensive demonstrated HR experience in a complex, demanding client environment. Multiple HR specialism experience is desirable (Talent Development, D&I).
      • Demonstrated effective team leadership and management experience, including a proven track record of effectively delivering results through people and removing barriers to implement change.
      • Experience in delivering an organisation's Talent Management Strategy.
      • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering leadership and employee development programmes.
      • Excellent client management and communication (oral and written) skills.
      • Demonstrated experience in successfully building effective relationships with and influencing senior-level executives.
      • Experience delivering organisational change, including the ability to influence and lead cultural change through leadership, policy development and learning strategies.
      • Proven ability to work under pressure and retain oversight and delivery of multiple work programmes.
      • Experience managing large functional budgets and supplier contract management.
      • Strong commitment to continuous improvement.
