Your team
Within the Aviation Transformation Directorate, the \"Aviation Intelligence Unit\" (AIU) is responsible for providing advice to the Director General and the Director ATD on all matters relating to EUROCONTROL's data and analytical insights.
As a Digital Content Assistant, you will review data products and documents of the Aviation Intelligence Unit (AIU) to ensure clarity, coherence, and accuracy prior to publication or industrialisation.
You will provide support to the Aviation Intelligence Unit by assisting in visual content creation and data preparation. You will review the visual elements for the AIU products to ensure that they are informative, interactive where necessary and engaging for the target audience, ensuring consistent application of graphic elements (e.g. layout, design, etc.) across AIU products. You will also support the production and processing of stakeholder surveys on AIU products and services.
Your role
Your role will be to:
- Support the creation of dashboards, reports and data summaries under the guidance of more senior team members.
Review and edit publications developed within the Aviation Intelligence Unit to ensure the consistent application of data visuals, as well as content accuracy and clarity, contributing to high-quality final publications. Assist in collecting, formatting, and cleansing large datasets from multiple sources under the guidance of data analysts. Support coordination with internal teams (including authors, analysts, and editors) to improve the clarity, consistency, and overall quality of publications, and to ensure visual outputs align with broader branding and communication objectives. Produce and adapt visual data content (e.g. infographics, diagrams, and illustrations) to effectively represent technical data concepts, and analytical outputs, ensuring that these products are informative, interactive where necessary, and engaging for the target audience. Assist in reviewing documents and preparing materials (e.g. design, layout, formatting) for meetings, workshops, publications, reports, and other data products for digital use. Support the creation stakeholder surveys on AIU products and services and processing and presenting the survey results. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
Candidates must fulfil one of the following requirements:
Post-secondary education meeting EQF Level 5 or higher plus minimum 4 years of relevant working experience; Completed third level studies meeting EQF Level 6 or higher (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) plus minimum 2 year of relevant working experience; Completed third level studies meeting EQF Level 7 or higher (Master’s degree or equivalent) plus minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience.
Refer to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Experience developing infographics and adapting data-driven visuals for a general audience. Experience in reviewing and editing technical documentation (EN). Technical drafting skills (EN). Proficient user of Microsoft 365 (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Graphic design skills, with the ability to translate key message through infographics. Experience with design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud Package or similar).
The following would be considered an asset:
Experience with online markup languages HTML/CSS. Experience with online data/mapping visualisation tools (e.g. Flourish, Datawrapper, Google Charts, Observable, etc). General knowledge of European aviation / Air Traffic Management (ATM) would be an asset. Creativity and innovation: You apply new approaches. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C2. If applicable: The selected candidate will be required to become basic users of French at level A1before the end of the probation period. The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of 5 Year(s) in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract. The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post. The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades. Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
